Greetings from an Oregon Fan
Duck fan here just checking in. Game week’s coming up and I figured I’d stop by and say hi. Not here to troll, just thought it’d be good to talk about the matchup and answer any questions you might have about the Ducks, Autzen, Eugene, or gameday experience.
If you’re making the trip or just curious about what to expect, ask away. Always good to trade some info before kickoff. Looking forward to having you guys at Autzen!

Re: Greetings from an Oregon Fan
Greetings and thanks for stopping by.
The Cats are coming off a 15-1 campaign that ended with a loss in the National Championship game. The Cats did lose a decent amount of talent off of that team but return a lot at most position groups. Both the offensive and defensive lines are strong and deep. RB, WR, and TE are all solid groups. The Cats have to replace the Walter Peyton Award Winner (heisman for the FCS) at QB. Tommy Mellott was drafted by the Raiders in the 6th Round. The Bobcats head coach Brent Vigen has recruited and coached Carson Wentz and Josh Allen. So, most of us aren’t worried about the QB position. The biggest question mark in the defense is the secondary. The Cats lost a lot to graduation and the transfer portal.
We are excited for this years team as they have plenty to prove. But, I don’t think this MSU team fairs very well in Eugene.

Most serious Oregon fans are taking the game seriously, especially with how we played against Idaho last season and how other games have gone like Washington/Montana a few years back. Like you guys, we are replacing a lot of talent that has graduated or moved on to the NFL, so it sounds like there will be plenty of new starters on the field for both teams.CodyCat wrote: ↑Tue Aug 19, 2025 11:30 amGreetings and thanks for stopping by.

I just want you to know I hate Dan Lanning. And only because he’s such a good coach and unfortunately likeable. Gone are the days when the Ducks were somewhat of a paper tiger. We have a good team, but more than likely are going to get pummeled.

I don't know anything at all about your squad this year. I know you'll be good....as you always are. What do you see as the proven strengths of your teams for this year, what are some of your question marks? Who are some of the dudes to watch that are next level type players?

For Montana State, I am hoping for an upset, realistically, hoping we can keep the game within three possessions would be a positive with all of the new faces.
Question I have wondered about since I’ve been a child, is where did the name ducks come from! I guess I could research it but more fun to talk about

No idea why that post twice. Does that sometimes off of my phone.
I am hoping to be at the game and have plans to do so however, work has been in the way quite a bit this summer and may continue to be so.
My important question is, where is the cheapest beer in the days leading up to the game as well as as post game?

May I’ve already been posted, but what is Montana State paid for the game? I know there has been previous discussions. What are the total budgets through the schools and outside funding for both programs?

Hello Duck Fan. Any recommendations for parking on gameday? I know it's nuts (and expensive) I appreciate any suggestions....looking forward to seeing the Oregon gameday experience in person!

Re: Greetings from an Oregon Fan
Is there an equivalent oregon fan board I can go to to see some of their pre-game buzz? I found a couple online but not sure how legit they are.
First and goal, clock winding down. That's Humphrey! It's TOUCHDOWN MONTANA STATE!

Re: Greetings from an Oregon Fan
Thanks all for the welcome! I put together a a quick rundown of a few things for you guys about the team, and also the gameday experience and tips.
Offense:
RB room is deep. Lead back will be Makhi Hughes (#20), Tulane transfer. Strong runner with vision, not a burner. Carries will go 3 to 4 backs deep every game to keep the room fresh.
OL is mostly new, but all portal guys with multi-year starting experience. Should become a strength once they gel.
WR took a big hit when our top returner went down in spring. Look for true freshman Dakorian Moore (#1), the top WR recruit in the 2025 class, to be the feature guy right away. Behind him, a lot of athleticism, not much proven yet.
TE group will be central, led by Kenyon Sediq (#18). He is a mismatch everywhere and could see 50 to 80 catches plus some backfield touches.
QB is likely Dante Moore (#10). Five-star from Detroit, sat last year behind Dillon Gabriel. NFL arm, reportedly sharp in camp. He finally gets the keys.
Defense:
DL might be the strongest unit. Matayo Uiagalelei (#10) and Amauri Washington (#92) are both Sunday-level players. Deep group, should be dangerous in pass rush, maybe a little less consistent against the run.
LBs are the most proven. Bryce Boettcher is a senior leader and former walk-on who was drafted in baseball. Devon Jackson is the other starter, freak speed at 235 lbs.
DBs are young but talented. Could see multiple true freshmen play. The leader is Purdue transfer Dillon Thieneman (#31), a proven Big Ten starter who was nearly in the Ohio State secondary this year.
Overall: Oregon has a lot of potential, but not much returning production. Pieces are in place, but we will see quickly where the growing pains are.
Gameday info for Bobcat fans:
If you do not have a parking pass, look into the Autzen Express shuttles. Multiple pickup spots around town, very efficient in and out. Small fee, tickets through the Go Ducks app.
Tailgating-wise, Duck fans will treat you well if you land at one. Definitely check out the Mo Center (indoor facility) pregame. Plenty of food, drink, space to hang out, and the rest of the day’s games up on the big screens. If you want the bar scene, The Cooler is a short walk from the stadium and will be packed.
There is construction on the new 2.Mo football facility, so access may be limited, but it is still worth a walk past the current facility and performance center just to see.
Expect warm and sunny weather, so plan accordingly. Be in your seats at the end of the 1st and 3rd quarters for “Coming Home” and “Shout.” Trivia note: the Shout video was originally a Nike ad lined up to air if Oregon had won the 2015 title game, loaded with former players and UO personalities.
Hope everyone making the trip has a great time. Happy to field any other questions about Eugene, Autzen, or the Ducks, and would like to hear more about the Bobcats to report back to our board.

Download the Go Ducks app, and select "tickets" at the bottom center. Then select single game tickets, and once the new page opens the will be a menu option at the top left (three lines). Select that, and then select "2025 Autzen Express Shuttle" They are $8 a rider. Really efficient system.Catfanatic84 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 19, 2025 2:07 pmHello Duck Fan. There is, but unfortunately we don't really have any free ones to speak of. That are good anyway. ScoopDuck is the one I'd recommend. Sometimes they have a special going for new members that's like $1 for a month. Sorry to disappoint on that request.

Dan is a really great guy and a hell of a coach for someone still in his 30s. He came up working under Norvell, Saban, and Smart, and you can see how he has taken pieces of each of their systems and built them into his own philosophy. So far it has worked.BelligerentBobcat wrote: ↑Tue Aug 19, 2025 12:37 pmI just want you to know I hate Dan Lanning. And only because he’s such a good coach and unfortunately likeable. He is relentless on the recruiting trail, but his biggest strength might be the culture he has built. Oregon has not lost a single starter to the transfer portal in his four seasons. Pretty remarkable in this era of college football.

Duck,
Thanks for the rundown. Flying into Eugene and have a hotel room in between there and Autzen. Roughly a mile away from the stadium so will be able to walk to the game. Is the Uber/Lyft scene reliable to and from the airport and any other needs to skip around town?
Excited to experience the town and gameday environment. Thanks!

Yeah I rewatched the Big 10 championship over the weekend, this dude and Tez Johnson really stuck out the most. I know TJ is gone but this guy is going to cause problems for a ton of teams this season. The Cats for many years have employed TE's in the same H-back manner and use the TE more than most FCS teams. We lost our version of this guy(Rohan Jones) to the SEC via the portal and it will be interesting to see who replaces him.

I'd say for what you are looking to do Uber/Lyft will be fine. I admittedly don't use them much, but I see them driving around a lot.VIGEN SZN wrote: ↑Tue Aug 19, 2025 2:47 pmDuck,

Its pretty standard for most of the P5. Most boards are tied to a recruiting service though, so you have access to all those sites have to offer, and most boards also have several staff members who attend practice and media sessions and are able to report back to the paying subscribers. They are also active in the recruiting world, speaking to recruits and getting an idea of where they are leaning. It does have its perks, albeit for about $10/month. It also keeps the trolls away pretty well too. Some sites are small, but some, like Texas A&M (TexAgs) have several hundred thousand members paying between $10 and $25 a month. The math on that is crazy.coloradocat wrote: ↑Tue Aug 19, 2025 3:40 pmMonetizing fan boards is such a P4 thing to do (no offense).
