I know Coach V is a different man, but this is how Choate hurt me.
All I want for Christmas is for BN to stop feeding the trolls.

Can I just say OSU was the worst fiance ever! They kept checking out the bridal party and letting themselves get caught. Can you say “I’m not sure I am ready to get married” any more clearly?

#8 had a fun Instagram response to Vigen's post, as did Grant. I'm sure there is great joy among the team!

I noticed that too. I'm sure that Vigen staying makes it more likely Lamson comes back next year. You never know though, he might get a crazy NIL thrown at him from other schools that would be too good to pass up. But maybe with his past experiences and disappointments at the FBS level, he sees MSU as the best situation for him to complete his college career. Winning a bunch like this season must be infectious to a guy who didn't win much in his previous collegiate seasons. Chambers was similar, said this place was the best thing to happen to him. I love these QBs we seem to keep finding!

Re: Vigen is staying at MSU!
This is an early Christmas present! Vigen has taken our program to another level and I couldn't be happier that he'll be around for the playoffs and next season. He's been a great fit and would be difficult to replace. Wish the NCAA would prevent FBS schools from poaching FCS coaches until at least after the playoffs. I also think NIL is ruining college football but that's a topic for another thread.

I think Lamson stays. Imuch like Julius, he learned to love football again at MSU. Plus, writing in Stanford on lost job resumes, regardless of degree, will go a long way for him in the future. What will be fun to watch is with a more balanced offense, even leaning more towards passing, will we elevate our caliber of recruits even more…BlueAndGoldNation wrote: ↑Wed Nov 26, 2025 5:42 pmI noticed that too. Re: Vigen is staying at MSU!
I'm surprised and pleased. Realistically, it's probably just a matter of time until we lose Vige most likely (though I'd love to be wrong), but obviously, it's great to have him for one more year.
BTW, with Vigen sitting on 57 wins, just 13 short of Ash's record, there's a good chance that with even just a solid playoff run he will break Ash's career wins record next year.
One easy thing that would really hepl us retain Vigen and/or future coaches would be if the legislature (or board of Governors, whoever controls it) would allow us to offer more than four year contracts to coaches. The NDSU coaches have seven and eight year deals, which financially makes up a bit for the fact that our salaries are smaler. If Vigen or another coach can make $600k-900K here (depending on how good the year is) and then get an eight year deal, it begins to get to a number that provides real long-term financial security in a way that we can't really with our current four year deal structures.

Oh yes!! I think Vigen staying will go far in others staying. And I'm pretty certain Lamson will be the starting QB next year.BlueAndGoldNation wrote: ↑Wed Nov 26, 2025 5:42 pmI noticed that too.
