Heard a rumor SFA is bringing their band, can anyone confirm or deny that?

That would be awesome if true. Bands in that part of the country are no joke. Love to see a combined halftime with SOTW.damnyoutuesday wrote: ↑Thu Dec 11, 2025 9:36 amHeard a rumor SFA is bringing their band, can anyone confirm or deny that?

Their coach said in Colter’s interview that the band was chartering its own plane.ClowderUp wrote: ↑Thu Dec 11, 2025 9:39 amThat would be awesome if true. I think SFA will be very very tough. Something like our playoff games vs SDSU and USD in recent years at home.

Their band has 300 members…that’s going to take up most of their allotted tickets up in the corner.Bocephus wrote: ↑Thu Dec 11, 2025 9:47 amTheir coach said in Colter’s interview that the band was chartering its own plane.ClowderUp wrote: ↑Thu Dec 11, 2025 9:39 amThat would be awesome if true. They aren't bringing every member, but it is awesome that they are bringing a band.RyeCat wrote: ↑Thu Dec 11, 2025 9:56 amTheir band has 300 members…that’s going to take up most of their allotted tickets up in the corner.Bocephus wrote: ↑Thu Dec 11, 2025 9:47 amTheir coach said in Colter’s interview that the band was chartering its own plane.ClowderUp wrote: ↑Thu Dec 11, 2025 9:39 amThat would be awesome if true. It really shows that they are trying to do it the right way.

I'm in this camp at the moment as well. Especially with our performance against Yale.
I do think we right the ship and get the win but SFA can absolutely come in and get a victory.
Their defense sets up their offense, so the keys are to move the chains, win the TOP, and win field position. We do those things and we win.

Re: #7 SFA @ #2 MSU Friday night.
I said this in another thread so I'll put it here as well...
I respect SFA, and similar to the 2021 Sam Houston team, they have a Senior Bowl CB that is 6'1 190 named Charles Demmings. He is the highest rated FCS CB for this 2026 NFL draft. Sam Vidlak has a good arm, dosen't turn the ball over, and their defense is fast and they all fly to the ball...
That being said, does it scare me to the core that we can't handle their speed at our house? Hell no. We are 38-2 (95%) under Vigen at home, with only the only 2 losses being in OT to NDSU and SDSU! Even crazier stat is out of those 38 home wins, we won 34 (89%) of them by double digits! It might be a close game, and it might get ugly like Yale, but using some logic, it will take dang near a miracle for SFA to win. Our home field advantage is massive. Our guys need to show up and play, but I really, really like our chances to make it to Nashville.

I'm not so sure it won't be closer to William and Mary 2022, especially if we can start fast and light the place on fire the first couple series.

I like it! I chuckle when I hear people say we won't have the speed to match those TX boys. Uh... where do you think several of our secondary studs are from, and do you realize some of them were some of the fastest sprinters in Texas?BlueAndGoldNation wrote: ↑Thu Dec 11, 2025 10:21 amI said this in another thread so I'll put it here as well...

I watched their coach's Monday presser and he said they were bringing "150-160 people". That is the football team, and I am quite sure the band would travel separately. Anyway, that was a good watch. I like their coach.damnyoutuesday wrote: ↑Thu Dec 11, 2025 9:36 amHeard a rumor SFA is bringing their band, can anyone confirm or deny that?

I was at the playoff game against UAlbany when they brought around 30 of their band. You could tell even tho they lost, the band had a blast. Their band was some of the last to leave their seats when the game was over. This should add to the excitement of the game.

Re: #7 SFA @ #2 MSU Friday night.
I believe there is a size limit to how many players can travel for an FCS road game. About 70 max? So even with coaches, assistants, etc that would still probably be under 100 for the football team. Just a rough estimate.Clinton T wrote: ↑Thu Dec 11, 2025 12:47 pmI watched their coach's Monday presser and he said they were bringing "150-160 people". So if he said 150, that could possibly include their band depending on how big it is.

Just remember SFA is in the top 8 for a reason. This game can go either way, although Montana state is definitely more likely to win (coming from an SFA fan). But to say this game is going to be closer to a 55-7 victory is just arrogant.GoldstoneCat wrote: ↑Thu Dec 11, 2025 12:35 pmI'm not so sure it won't be closer to William and Mary 2022, especially if we can start fast and light the place on fire the first couple series.

Yeah, never mind those fans that think that every game should be a blowout, you would think the Yale game should temper some of those thoughts.ThelumberyardSFA wrote: ↑Thu Dec 11, 2025 1:25 pmJust remember SFA is in the top 8 for a reason.
