The Redbirds remind me of the 2021 Cats. Caught lightning in a bottle. Beat the #1 seed on the road. Hopefully they are just like the 21 Cats and lose the title game.
Well losing in 2021 has a ton to do with Tommy getting hurt on the 1st or 2nd play of the game. The Redbirds are tough and motivated. But so are the Cats. Should be a great game!
We still get beat if Tommy plays. The NDSU team was loaded.

This times a million. I freely admit I underestimated how good they were going into that game. Our lines were nowhere near ready to play at that level. That whole experience was the best thing that ever happened to this program. We finally tasted true playoff success, got to go see where we stacked up, what a championship game feels like, and saw that we needed more investment. 5 years later here we sit, with the culmination right there for the taking.

Oh 100%. But we'll never know how competitive we would have been had Tommy not got hurt. Likely would not have won but made it a game. Kind of what I'm expecting will happen in two weeks. Redbirds have had a great playoff run, historic for them. Still feel the Cats are the better team across the board. But you gotta play the game.

I can say with full certainty we get blown out regardless. Probably not as bad as what we did, but we weren't going to be competitive.

All starting 5 of that NDSU offensive line are still in the NFL. So is that QB (Lance), their WR (Watson), and RB (Luepke). There are FBS National champion teams that don't do that. These aren't cup of coffee guys but draft picks. Cats had several league guys also but we had no shot, Tommy or no.

And our D couldn't come close to stopping the Bison.

I suspect that while the Redbirds will give us a game, I like our depth, which will be an edge in this game.

I think losing Benson may have been the bigger impact. Had he and Tommy both been healthy, I think we keep it within 8-10.

Agreed we did not have as much depth and he plugged the middle. Similar to Brott. You notice the difference when he is out.

Not comfortable w this 8.5 business at all. Just want to get out of there on the right side. One point win will do. There’s a lot of work ahead against this team. Ignore anything that happened during the regular season. They got where they are on merit.

GO CATS GO!!!!!!
