I bet the polls were taken before the ISU loss!
On paper how could you not feel MSU will finish last or at least very low in the polls.
Our team finished very poorly last year. We lost a former League MVP and a total of 4
starters graduating off that team. Plus we lose one of more promising young players -
Owsley. This year we return only 4 players who saw significant minutes last year, and 7
player who have never played a minute of Bobcat basketball. Boy, I think I have just
convinced myself we will finish last.

The thing I would say, and I have been saying it for years is that Durham’s biggest
problem can be directly related to the lack of scholarship players. We go from having
only 7-8 Div. 1 caliber players to 12-13 on the roster. We don't have a player to replace
Erickson all by themselves but with Brown a year older, Miller, Jefferson, and Holmes
we are a lot faster, stronger, and have more depth than we have had in years. This year
Dissley a year older is and is a definite upgrade from Faaborge. If Danny could
magically gain a 6th year of eligibility Dissley would still start As reliable as Ento was at
center and P. Forward Moss will be an upgrade over anyone who played forward last
year. At center we ended the season without Towsley who was are starter much of the
season. I was not a huge Towsley fan, but with him back (hopefully) and Al Beye at
center , with Taylor Pratt for insurance we are at least equal if not much improved at the
center position. Add into the mix Casey Durham (whom I here is surprising people) ,
Woodhal and Durr, I think this team is improved top to bottom. Do I think they will win
the league... NO, I predict Middle of the pack, but next year...........

Not rated high enough?
Personally, I think the Bobcats basketball team is overrated!
Seventh place sounds just right!
