One of my favorites is when I came to school back in 96. Thats when I was first introduced to $5 pitchers at the Cats Paw on Thursdays. I remember walking around, drinking out of a pitcher of beer,dancing like a freak and listening to some of the really good bands that would come and play. Of course I was of drinking age back then.

When I started working there in '94 it was a five spot to get in, comedy started at 8 and free pitchers/bands started at 9:30

Did away with them about 2000-01....got tired of cleaning up the "aftermath"

I was going to say... $5 pitchers isn't really even a good deal by college standards. We used to do quarter beers at the Paw and order them $5 at a time which was basically a tray full. Then we'd stack the empty cups until they hit the ceiling... Ah, the good old days...

I will trump that! Quarter (25 cents) Beers at the old "Slide Bar" a block and a half from Roskie Hall. And people wonder why I do not drink beer any more

$5 is a pretty good deal in Boze nowadays for a pitcher. Molly has a 3.75 pitcher every day, I'll usually drink whatever that is.

you bring back old memories (tray full of quarter beers / stacking empties/popcorn for dinner). i think i spent most of my tuition at the paw one quarter at a time. loved the music there (before the remodel) with bands like Soma, Kid Wikkid, Maxx, etc. i think they started the free pitchers around 92 - shortly after i left - but the beer was the cheap rockgut stuff. i remember coming back a year or two later and they had free pitchers of anything on tap (i.e. micros).

a group of us got to know the owner well enough at the time that we didn't have to pay cover and drank for free (think they felt they had made enough money off of us prior). in fact, i remember walking around with a pitcher of kamikaze and a straw once....

sure glad noone from work/home knows my true identity on here......

Yea! Thats it MSU Toddler...THE MAXX. I couldnt remember that band for the life of me. The first song I ever heard them sing was from the band SPONGE. Ha, good ol days. Thanks buddy

ya - the Maxx brought in a lot of women.

i also remember going to one of Pearl Jam's first concerts at the fairgrounds (they sold 200 tickets) and then going to the paw afterward to have them storm the stage and play some more. it was right after they changed their name from "Mookie Blaylock".

even saw orginal members of Blue Oyster Cult play at the paw as they passed through on a concert tour.

ahh - days of freedom, low responsibility and no cash......glad they are over.

We always had sweet shows: Blues Traveler, Candlebox, Dave Matthews (before the fruitiness set in) etc.

- 12 shot pitchers of BV - Coke for $12.00 at the Hideaway
- All-you-can-eat pizza at Little Big Mens on Sunday afternoon for about $4.00. (Great Hangover Food)
- Starting the pre-function for football games at 8:00 am at the "OLD" Rocking R.
- Peanuts on the floor at Little Johns.
- Spring Break in Jackson Hole
- Buff Night at "Mothers", formerly St George and the Dragon
- And best of all, crashing the Volcano Party at the Sigma Chi house when St Helen's blew. Must have been about 20 kegs!!
